  Replacing a Lamp

When replacing a projector lamp you should follow the manufacturer's instructions. These are usually in the projector manual supplied with the projector.

Generally the proceedure is as follows:

  • Ensure the projector is off.
  • If the projector was on and you have just turned it off, wait 30 to 45 minutes to allow it to cool down properly.
  • Disconnect the power cable from the power outlet and the projector.
  • Unscrew the screws on the lamp compartment cover (figure 1); lift and remove the cover (figure 2)
  • Unscrew the screws on the lamp module (figure 3)
  • Lift up the handle on the lamp (figure 4) and pull the lamp out slowly and carefully.
  • Insert the new lamp carefully (please see NB below), tighten the screws on the lamp (not too tight), replace the lamp compartment cover and tighten the screws on the cover.
  • Reconnect the power cable and turn the projector on.
  • If required, reset the lamp counter in the projector menu.

NB: be careful not to touch the bulb with bare fingers: natural oil on your fingers will remain on the lamp and cause hot spots, overheating when the lamp is on and causing damage or shattering.
Always hold the lamp on the module or use protective gloves when replacing it.
